The Vook MCP server lets an AI assistant work with your recordings directly. Ask it to transcribe a meeting, then summarize it, pull out action items or export subtitles, all inside the tool you already use. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants call external tools. The Vook server runs on your machine and turns each tool call into a regular API request made with your API key. Usage spends your API credits exactly as the API does.

Before you start

You need:

Install

Any other MCP client that runs local servers works with the same command and environment variable.

Try it

Once connected, ask in plain language:
  • “Transcribe /Users/me/Downloads/interview.mp3 with speaker labels, then list the main decisions.”
  • “Find my transcription named weekly sync and export it as subtitles to /Users/me/Desktop/sync.srt.”
  • “Transcribe https://example.com/podcast/episode-12.mp3 in French.”
  • “Summarize my transcription named weekly sync.”
The assistant picks the right tools, waits for the transcription to finish and reads the result.

Tools

The server reads and creates transcriptions. Deleting stays in the web app and the API, so content inside a recording can never remove your data.

Credits

Transcriptions started from an assistant use your API credits at the same rate as the API. If your balance runs out, the assistant reports the insufficient_api_credits error; top up from the web app and ask again.

Configuration

Next: Errors and limits lists every error code an assistant can report.
